Latex Mattress Information
We're happy to be able to provide you
with information about Talalay latex mattresses.
It seems like some people are not exactly sure
what the differences are between a Talalay Latex Mattress
and other latex mattresses so I thought I’d provide some
additional information.
What is a Talalay Latex
Mattress?
When a product is labeled “Talalay” they are
referring to the manufacturing method. There are two primary
methods for manufacturing latex foam
products:
the Talalay method and the Dunlop method. I will be addressing
the Talalay method on this page.
To generalize, the Talalay method is more high
tech than the Dunlop method. With the Talalay
method, after the latex if poured into the mould, it is
sealed in a vacuum and then flash-frozen to stabilize the
latex. As a
result the, Talalay latex cell structure is more
consistent throughout the product. The added steps in this
process give Talalay a wider range of firmness levels and
if you prefer a softer bed, you’ll definitely want to go
with a Talalay Latex Mattress or at least a Talalay
topper.
Advantages of Talalay Latex
Mattresses:

There are more options when it comes
to firmness of the mattress.

The Talalay method provides up to 33%
more pressure relief than other foam and fiber
materials.

They are made directly from the tree
sap of a particular rubber tree in Asia and
are therefore biodegradable, hypoallergenic,
are naturally resistant to bacteria, mildew,
and mold, and typically "breathe" better than
other types of foam mattresses.

They are extremely durable – 3 times
more durable than mattresses made from the
Dunlop method.

Talalay Latex Mattresses are 4x more
breathable than other types of foam products,
including those made with the Dunlop process,
which makes for a more comfortable night
sleep.
Disadvantage of Talalay Latex
Mattresses:
The main disadvantage of products made with the
Talalay method is that, because of the extra processing
steps, they’re more expensive than other
products. If
you want the best quality but don’t have the cash on hand
to pay for an entire Talalay Latex Mattress, we would
suggest buying a Latex Foam Mattress
Topper made with the Talalay method. This will give you many
of the advantages of a Talalay Latex Mattress at a
fraction of the cost.
